Car has been sitting for 10 years, recommendation on how to thoroughly clean the body of the car?
I bought a 1984 Porsche 944, about 2 months ago. Got it running after hours of working on it, the previous owner has had it in his garage since 2001. The car in general is in mint condition, engine, body and interior. Bottom line is I want to restore the car to the best condition I can (excluding repainting the car), only using products or methods.
-Body Paint (Glossy Black).
-15 inch alloy wheels (Black).
-Leather Interior (Black, want to strengthen and revive the leather).
-Dashboard (Black).
Now going into something a little more complicated, I want to THOROUGHLY clean the car’s exhaust, get rid of all the gunk that’s been sitting in it; I mean it runs fine, but I just want to give the car a fine tuning.
Any thoughts or ideas which may help improve the car’s look or even performance (even though I have that covered pretty much).
What a Good Paint & Body Shop calls a Factory Paint Job is Best BUT “If all the Paint is Good and there is no Body Damage a Good Heavy Duty Rubbing Compound, Power Buffer will/Should bring it back then 2 Coats of “Clear Coat” or 3 Coats of “Hand Rubbed Lacquer” should Protect the Paint.
